The Audience is a photographic project that took place in ninety-four gallery spaces in Melbourne between 2013 and 2016. Members of the local art community were invited to attend a photo-shoot and were instructed to imagine viewing a performance art event. Drawing on the visual language of 1970s performance art documentation, the work constructs a photographic archive of audiences at that time. The entire series of 445 photographs was exhibited in 2017 at the National Gallery of Victoria.
